Having trouble keeping your little ones busy while you're trying to find the best deals and match coupons? Here are a few ideas to keep the little monkeys entertained while getting your shopping done!
Grocery Store Bingo- This is a cute little idea that takes a little bit of preparation....Get a magazine or your local grocery sales ad and cut pictures of favorite food items. Glue pictures on some card stock and slide into a plastic sheet protector....bring some dry erasers or use some inexpensive, fun stickers to mark out each item they find as you're making your way through the store!
Make a smaller list for them- My daugher is 10, a little too old for Grocery Store Bingo, but just the right age for starting to learning valuable lessons in savings. One thing she really enjoys is helping me with our shopping list. I make her a smaller list of items to find, and ask her to find the lowest price. I usually do this with items I know I don't have a coupon for, and she's actually really good at it! Keeps her occupied and helps me, while teaching her some valuable life skills.
Last resort, when all else fails and you can't find a babysitter.....
Take a portable DVD player or Video game- While this may not be as creative or interactive, it is one that will work in a pinch.
Do you have other ideas? I would love to hear them!
